Yong Teck Lee: "This is my promise to you, that our struggle continues and I will always be by your side"...."Trust and integrity of the leaders are fundamental to the future of a country or a government or, in our case, SAPP as a serious political party of the future"

This is the start, not the finish of our journey

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee accepts his first electoral defeat in 8 outings, and vows to continue his 'Sabah for Sabahan' struggle.

"Yes, this is my first defeat in Batu Sapi. But our party values number six as it means 'resilience'. You fall, and you get up again,"

"You will fight and fight until you win, until you achieve autonomy for Sabah and a better deal for Sabah."

Time for Sabah voters to ponder

Amde Sidik (Feb 24, 2010)
Interesting, of lately, internet media reported that the current Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Musa Hj Aman has only till March to sit in his office at Innoprise Building at Teluk Likas, Kota Kinabalu as Chief Minister of Sabah. He is soon to be replaced by Datuk Shafie Apdal, currently a Federal Minister for Rural and Regional Development, who is also an MP for Semporna.

How reliable is this media yet to be seen? I'm pretty sure Musa Aman will use whatever resouces available at his disposal to avoid this embarrassing moment. If money can buy for him that would be no problem but if something else beside money than it must be to do with brain. And this is a war against Prime Minister. Musa Aman isn't a fighter of this nature, he reached the top post was but by wriggling. He is a 'tai chi' kind he uses others' forces for his strength. Person to person on round table isn't his game.

If this changing of Chief Minister does take place, it isn't just abrupt. But there is going to be a big problem for Sabah to stay put as a Malaysian State. That this is no less arbitrary decision than what Dr Mahathir did in 1994-2003 when he introduced the rotation of Chief Ministers of Sabah.

It's pure simplicity, no harder than plucking a wild flower by the roadside. If it happens now it could happen any time in the future. Whether Sabahans like it or not that surely be worth exploring whether this is the kind of arrangement Sabahans would like for their next generation to have.

Political stability is therefore fluid.

People, who currently in power will have no qualm, some don't even care to notice so long as their positions are not in jeopardy, unlike those in the opposition. Who cares more about the State?

It means Datuk Shafie Apdal has to be nominated as ADUN in order to be eligible to hold CM post or else it's a by-election. I don't have many views on this. Datuk Shafie Apdal may be comfortable in winning a by-election in Semporna but elsewhere in State, he may have to work very hard to win believe me!

What say you folks?
