2012 Jan 8 - Blood Donation a success

Blood Donation campaign and awareness

SAPP CLC Api-Api Youth & Wanita had successfully organized a blood donation at Star City ComplexKOTA KINABALU, Jan 8, 2012: Sabah Progressive Party CLC Api-Api Youth & Wanita had successfully organized a blood donation at Star City Complex, Asia City further adding 64 pints of blood to the Hospital's blood bank.

The blood donation campaign was held at 7th January 2012 from 10:00am until 4:00pm, the purposes are to let the public understand and raise awareness of the importance of the blood donation, and politicians should go down the field for community services as well.

According to the Blood Donation Campaign Organizing Chairman, Conan Teo, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Youth & Wanita are concerned about political trends, on the other hand also very concerned about the community activities, therefore, we are very supportive of meaningful activities, such as today's blood donation campaign, and it also helps to relieve the hospital blood bank of insufficient blood supply.

He said that "A Drop of blood, can save a life" and people willing to come forward to donate this precious life-giving blood showed that they love, they care with warmth towards helping our society and towards harmony.

Blood donating not only can save a patient's life but also can help the donor improve his/her body metabolism.

According to Conan Teo, his Youth Committee & Wanita Movement received tremendous feedback from this blood donation campaign with overwhelming public support and encouragement that prompted his committee to plan to organize blood donation on a monthly basis at different malls throughout the city.

SAPP CLC Api Api Youth Chief, Conan Teo said, "The Youth and Wanita movement are ready to serve the community and help the needy whenever they need assistance from us."

SAPP leaders posing together with the donorsHe was very pleased that the blood donation campaign received a warm response which comprised of various ethnic groups.

"We should have the attitude to serve regardless of religion or race, and come together to participate in the blood donation campaign, the amount of warm blood donated today will bring hope for emergency patients (Right - SAPP leaders posing together with the donors).

Total of 82 enthusiastic people come to participate in the blood donation campaign today, and qualified blood donors reached 64 persons exceeding the organizing committee target of 50 pints of blood.

Conan Teo extended his deep appreciation to Malaysian Red Crescent, Sabah Thalassaemia Society, Kota Kinabalu central hospitals, doctors and medical staff support. He also thanked sponsors like Ayam Brand, Wyeth, Julie's, Indo-Cafe, Vico, Mamee sponsorship, and Star City North Complex Management.

Those who attended the blood donation campaign included Sabah Progressive Party Deputy President DUN Likas YB Datuk Liew Teck Chan cum Likas CLC Chairman, Api Api CLC Chairman Datuk Wong Yit Ming, Secretary General cum CLC Tanjung Aru Chairman Datuk Richard Yong, Information Chief cum CLC Kepayang Chairman Mr. Chong Pit Fah, CLC Api Api Branch Chairman, Youth Chief and Wanita from other CLC, and also courtesy support from Lions Club of Tanjung Aru and Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu Asia City.
