SAPP akan batalkan
loji janakuasa arangbatu
LAHAD
DATU, Okt 5, 2010: Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) akan membatalkan cadangan
membina loji janakuasa arang batu di Kampung Sinakut dekat sini sebaik
saja membentuk Kerajaan Negeri Sabah yang baru selepas memenangi
pilihanraya umum kali ke-13 akan datang.
Presiden SAPP Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee berkata, projek loji
pentadbiran Kerajaan Negeri Sabah nanti.
Beliau
berucap merasmikan Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan gabungan cawangan-cawangan SAPP
bagi Jawatankuasa Perhubungan Pusat (CLC) Lahad Datu dan Tungku di sini.
Turut hadir, Timbalan Presiden merangkap Ahli Parlimen Sepanggar Datuk
Eric Majimbun, Timbalan Presiden merangkap Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN)
Likas Datuk Liew Teck Chan, bekas Menteri Kewangan Sabah Datuk Mohd Noor
Mansoor, Setiausaha Agung Datuk Richard Yong dan Naib Presiden merangkap
Timbalan Speaker Datuk Frankie Chong.
Tidak ketinggalan, Naib Presiden merangkap Ahli Parlimen Tawau Datuk Dr.
Chua Soon Bui, Naib Presiden Amde Sidik, Ketua Penerangan Chong Pit Fah,
Ketua Pemuda Edward Dagul dan Ahli Majlis Tertinggi, Dullie Marie, Kenneth
Koh dan Yong Chong Kim.
H adir
sama, Pengerusi CLC Lahad Datu merangkap Pengerusi Zon Silam Wong Yu Chin,
Pengerusi CLC Tungku Suaib Mutalib dan Pengerusi Penganjur Mapa Sari Tara.
Teck Lee berkata, sedikit masa dulu Ketua Menteri Datuk Seri Musa Aman
apabila Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak menumumkan bahawa
seperti menjadi Mat Rempit.
Burung kehilangan tempat berteduh apabila rumah mereka dirobohkan Kerajaan
Barisan Nasional Sabah.
Rakyat Didahulukan, Pencapaian Diutamakan.

Coal's Assault on Human Health
Coal pollutants affect all major body organ systems and contribute to four
of the five leading causes of mortality in the U.S.: heart disease,
cancer, stroke, and chronic lower respiratory diseases. This conclusion
emerges from our reassessment of the widely recognized health threats from
coal. Each step of the coal lifecycle-mining, transportation, washing,
combustion, and disposing of post combustion wastes-impacts human health.
Coal combustion in particular contributes to diseases affecting large
portions of the U.S. population, including asthma, lung cancer, heart
disease, and stroke, compounding the major public health challenges of our
time. It interferes with lung development, increases the risk of heart
attacks, and compromises intellectual capacity.
Oxidative stress and inflammation are indicated as possible mechanisms in
the exacerbation and development of many of the diseases under review. In
addition, the report addresses another, less widely recognized health
threat from coal: the contribution of coal combustion to global warming,
and the current and predicted health effects of global warming...more
