Harapan untuk berHari Raya musnah dijilat api

KOTA KINABALU, Ogos 23, 2011: Kejadian kebakaran di Kampung Sembulan Lama dua hari lalu telah memusnahkan hasrat dua keluarga untuk menyambut Syawal yang akan menjelang seminggu lagi.

Encik Suhaimi Sulaiman yang mempunyai sembilan orang cucu berasa bersyukur kepada Tuhan walaupun tinggal sehelai sepinggang, keseluruhan keluarganya terselamat dari bala yang menimpah.

Semua harta benda dan dokumen penting keluarganya habis dijilat api. Lebih menyedihkan keluarga beliau, anak yang menetap di Singapura, dijadualkan akan balik ke Sabah pada 29hb Ogos ini untuk sama-sama merayakan Hari Raya disini.

Encik Alimat Hj. Wahid juga melahirkan rasa kesyukurannya mendapati kesemua keluarganya terselamat. “Tidak kiralah harta benda yang hilang, pokoknya tiada nyawa yang terkorban” kata beliau dengan sedih.

Datuk Richard Yong bercakap dengan mangsa kebakaran Encik Sulaiman semasa melawat ke tapak kebakaran pagi tadiDalam lawatannya, Setiausaha Agung SAPP, merangkap Pengerusi SAPP N.17 Tg. Aru, Datuk Richard Yong We Kong, menemui kedua-dua keluarga dan melahirkan rasa sedih dan simpati beliau terutama sekali dalam menyambut perayaan Hari Raya Aidil Fitri tidak lama lagi. Beliau sempat menghulurkan sumbangan peribadi kepada kedua-dua keluarga yang malang.

Beliau menasihatkan keluarga Sulaiman dan Alimat untuk bersabar dan menghadapi kejadian itu dengan hati terbuka dan berserah kepada takdir Tuhan. Datuk Yong berharap pihak berkuasa akan dapat memberikan apa juga bentuk bantuan untuk meringankan beban keluarga-keluarga malang tersebut.

Keluarga Sulaiman dan Alimat mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Datuk Richard Yong dan rombongan yang terdiri dari Encik Bahari Aship dan Encik Kasim Busok, Ahli jawatankuasa SAPP N.17 yang sudi melawat dan prihatin terhadap malapetaka yang menimpa mereka.
