SAPP bidas pengurusan Kompleks Sukan Keningau

KENINGAU, Ogos 13: 2012: Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) berkata kemalangan yang meragut nyawa seorang pelajar di kolam renang Kompleks Sukan Keningau tidak mungkin berlaku jika pihak pengurusan meningkatkan tahap keselamatan di kompleks itu.

Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Perhubungan Kawasan (CLC) Bingkor parti SAPP Richard Lee berkata, pihak pengurusan kompleks sepatutnya menyediakan sekurang-kurangnya seorang lifeguard (penjaga keselamatan) setiap kali kolam renang itu dibuka kepada orang ramai.

"Ini bukan kali pertama trajedi yang meragut nyawa seperti itu berlaku di kolam renang itu. Beberapa kemalangan maut seumpama itu telah berlaku sebelum ini.

"Saya tidak faham mengapa pihak pengurusan kompleks itu tidak mengambil iktibar daripada kemalangan sebelum ini.

"Adakah pihak pengurusan kompleks terus menerus tidak akan meningkatkan tahap keselamatan di kolam renang itu sehinggalah trajedi lebih buruk seperti kehilangan banyak nyawa berlaku," katanya sambil menambah keselamatan awam seharusnya diutamakan.

Richard yang juga Ahli Majlis Tertinggi (SAPP) mengulas trajedi yang menimpa seorang pelajar lelaki yang dijumpai mati lemas di kolam renang kompleks itu kelmarin.

Ketua Polis Daerah Keningau DSP Zahari Mohamed berkata, mangsa yang dikenali sebagai Kenny Yap Shain Fong, 14, adalah seorang pelajar tingkatan dua SM Ken Hwa di sini.

Zahari dilaporkan akhbar tempatan sebagai berkata bahawa, seorang kakitangan kompleks sukan itu telah membuat laporan polis pada jam 5.10ptg selepas dimaklumkan mengenai kejadian itu oleh seorang kakitangan lain.

Zahari menambah siasatan polis mendapati pelajar malang itu berenang berseorangan di kolam renang itu ketika kejadian.

Katanya, siasatan polis mendapati kemalangan itu tidak melibatkan sebarang unsur jenayah.
