 反對燃煤廠在根設立
 

2009-02-01【山打根卅一日訊】山打根漁業艟舡公會理事會員堅決反對燃煤發電廠在山打根設立!

根漁業艟舡公會副主席樊貴明，於今日率領理事們包括黃貴成，黃貴好，李玉堂，梁金成以及李少坤等表態反對燃煤廠在山打根以及在沙巴州設立。

眾人反對的理由是種植油棕已經導致海產銳減，然而有關燃煤廠若在山打根設立，其廢氣以及廢料將會導致海產更加殆盡。該會理事黃貴好以身說法指出油棕種植對海產的害處，而現年８８歲的他，自４歲起即跟隨其先父下海作業。在84年的光陰，一生人的青春都是與海共舞，所以沒有其他人對於在海上的捕魚作業比得上他的經驗來得豐富。

黃氏指:在五六十年代，每年農曆新年前後，在山打根內港都可以捕獲數百擔的花池，對面內港丹容亞路都有甘邦的拖艇在河拖網，小魚如釘公狗，青鱗公，白飯魚，蘇祿狗等都是滿佈內港的。現時上述小魚絕了迹，花池，黃魚仔等數量都少了，同時到了花池魚的大汛期，現時在內港已經捕捉不到花池魚了，甚至要出到深海界域，始能捕到數擔而已。

他進一步說;這是歸咎於種植油棕業興起後所出現旳現象。油棕種植者把油棕都種到河邊去，以至農葯農肥殺草蟲葯等隨雨水流到沿海河流而把細菌魚苗等都殺絕。導致海產也因此而銳減。甚至養魚場的經營者都要把漁場搬去拿篤岸外沒有污染的離島養殖。

油棕種植己經遺害到海產的損失，若果燃煤廠在山打根設立，燃煤對空氣的污染，煤碳廢料對於海產的遺害相信會更甚。所以漁業艟舡公會同人一致反對燃煤廠在山打根甚至在沙巴州各地設立。
