Yong Teck Lee: "This is my promise to you, that our struggle continues and I will always be by your side"...."Trust and integrity of the leaders are fundamental to the future of a country or a government or, in our case, SAPP as a serious political party of the future"

This is the start, not the finish of our journey

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee accepts his first electoral defeat in 8 outings, and vows to continue his 'Sabah for Sabahan' struggle.

"Yes, this is my first defeat in Batu Sapi. But our party values number six as it means 'resilience'. You fall, and you get up again,"

"You will fight and fight until you win, until you achieve autonomy for Sabah and a better deal for Sabah."

SAPP: Only one member of Tanjong Papat CLC has resigned so far

Kota Kinabalu, November 10, 2008: The SAPP HQ would like to announce that as of today only one of the 1765 members in the 18 branches in the Tanjong Papat constituency has officially resigned as a member of the Party.

The letter of ex-member Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah purportedly dated 23rd September 2008 was hand delivered to SAPP HQ by a staff of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development today but without returning his membership card which is required under article 5(6) of the Party constitution.

It is reliably learnt from SAPP members who have been approached to join Datuk Raymond Tan’s new party that Datuk Raymond Tan and his agents are optimistic of forming the new party and being admitted into the Barisan Nasional. The promise to SAPP members is that if they want to keep their government posts, then they should join this new party.

It is learnt that the new party will apply to join the BN before the sitting of the State Legislative Assembly on November 14 so that the cabinet status of Datuk Raymond Tan and his seating in the assembly can be formalized.
