Yong Teck Lee: "This is my promise to you, that our struggle continues and I will always be by your side"...."Trust and integrity of the leaders are fundamental to the future of a country or a government or, in our case, SAPP as a serious political party of the future"

--------------

This is the start, not the finish of our journey

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee accepts his first electoral defeat in 8 outings, and vows to continue his 'Sabah for Sabahan' struggle.

"Yes, this is my first defeat in Batu Sapi. But our party values number six as it means 'resilience'. You fall, and you get up again,"

"You will fight and fight until you win, until you achieve autonomy for Sabah and a better deal for Sabah."

SAS debacle no petty issue

KOTA KINABALU, 12 Jan 2010: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) said Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology Datuk Dr.Yee Moh Chai's statement on Saham Amanah Sabah (SAS) issue "that there was no need to repeat what was said because it is already known to all in the State" is irresponsible.

SAPP Treasurer General Datuk Wong Yit Ming further asked if indeed the SAS issue is well known to all then why is it that his PBS colleagues like Information Chief Datuk Johnny Mositun, Chin Tet Min and Vice President Herbert Timbon Lagadan don't know about the issue.

"What is wrong in telling people the truth? What is there to hide? Is this really a petty issue? Yee as a Minister has obligation to initiate the White Paper on SAS issue which he used to champion," he said in a statement, here, today.

He said Yee was always harping on the SAS issue before PBS rejoin BN even to the extent of pointing fingers at BN leaders when the SAS share value drop to 20 Sen, and even continued to incessantly criticise Datuk Yong Teck Lee after PBS has rejoined BN followed by his PBS colleagues.

Wong advised Yee who is also Api-Api Assemblyman not to forget the development of his constituency such as redevelopment of the Sinsuran Shopping Complex, which have affected many shop houses and the reclamation issue on the waterfront project, rather than trying to link SAPP with SAS and other issues.

He said a White Paper is the only way to tell the people what has exactly happened.
