SAPP dinner turnout a good sign, says Yong

KOTA KINABALU, June 15, 2009: The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) says the good turnout at its Parents' Day 2009 dinner on Saturday night is a good sign for the party even thought it is no longer with the government.

"For 15 years since the party’s establishment, the annual celebration of Parents’ Day has never failed to bring the party’s members and their families closer."

"This is an opportunity for SAPP family members to practice our culture of respecting the elders," said SAPP President Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee when officiating the event at Grand Port View Seafood Restaurant here.

He also congratulated the organizers, SAPP Kota Kinabalu and Penampang Zone Women's wings, for continuing to work for the party while it was facing political problems.

SAPP Wanita Chief Melanie Chia in her welcoming speech said the event is a medium for the party leaders to communicate with members, family and friends.
