Pesta Kaamatan SAPP at Kg. Narinang, CLC N7 Kadamaian

Kota Kinabalu, June 22, 2009: SAPP Kadamaian had successfully carried out its Pesta Kaamatan cum formation of new branch, Kg. Narinang at the residence of its branch Chairman, Duanis Kambatu on last Sunday.

The event had attracted about 600 villagers of Kg. Narinang as the programme which included a Childrens' Body Builder competition, Rastik and Bowling kampung. The event was launched by SAPP president, Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee.

CLC Kadamaian Chairlady Agnes Liew, speaking at the launching, raised the concern of the villagers there on the existence of a helicopter which flew to and fro many times around Kg. Narinang few weeks ago. The villagers were worried should there be any project planned by the government without the knowledge & consent of the villagers which will affect their land, or they might lose their land if any private company come in to carry out agropolitan projects.

"Land Reform" is one of SAPP's many important agendas to protect Sabah's native land from being sold to others, said SAPP president Datuk Yong. He said that native land should be managed according to native customary rights and this Land scheme should be open only for locals.

Also present at the function was Datin Stella Yong, Datuk Eric Majimbun And Wife, Datuk Liew Teck Chen and wife, Datuk Frankie Chong and wife, Youth Chief Edward Dagul, Secretary-General Datuk Richard Yong and other supreme councillors C.K. Yong, Haji Madri Akong, Puan Rosnah Onik, SAPP leader from Kota Marudu, Deson Gaban, Keadilan local leader Peter Marajin, Kanol Gridol.

Oil Royalty Warrants Review - Kota Kinabalu (20 November 2008): State Government has been urged to initiate a review of the 1976 Petroleum Agreement between the State and Federal Government with the view to revise the oil royalty from five percent to no less than 20 per cent.
