Yong Teck Lee: "This is my promise to you, that our struggle continues and I will always be by your side"...."Trust and integrity of the leaders are fundamental to the future of a country or a government or, in our case, SAPP as a serious political party of the future"

This is the start, not the finish of our journey

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee accepts his first electoral defeat in 8 outings, and vows to continue his 'Sabah for Sabahan' struggle.

"Yes, this is my first defeat in Batu Sapi. But our party values number six as it means 'resilience'. You fall, and you get up again,"

"You will fight and fight until you win, until you achieve autonomy for Sabah and a better deal for Sabah."

Unbelievable terrible road conditions in Sabah!

Keningau, July 8, 2010: Villages from at least 10 villages (kampung) from Nabawan to the Keningau town called on the government to address their woes. These villages were kept isolated because of the deplorable road conditions in the area.

With a population of more than 3,000 villagers, these villages were deprived of transportation thus depriving them of the much need medical services and accessibility problems.

A severely broken bridge (pictured) which posed a danger to even pedestrians while vehicles are unable to be used to cross this bridge and instead were left stranded and motorists have to spend their night inside their vehicle waiting for help to come.

School children were also unable to attend their school. It was reported that there are 5 schools in this areas and people have problems in buying basic necessities.

This is only a tip of the iceberg with many more other areas affected with this kind of problem around Sabah for decades which the government  is not seriously tackling.

* It is not fair to cut subsidies across the board when poor people were made to suffer as a result of poor governance, corruptions, wastages and leakages, especially in Sabah with the highest poverty rate in Malaysia, with more than 60% kampung people living below the poverty line, their children suffering from hunger and the lack of basic health facilities.
