受山打根民眾反對
 傳煤電廠另覓地興建

2009-02-18 華僑日報 【本報山打根十七日訊】可靠消息指出，在山打根人反對聲中的燃煤發電廠將在根埠以外的地方另外覓地興建。

消息說，該可產電三百兆瓦特的燃煤發電廠本擬在山打根西昆渡一空地上興建，由於受到當地人士，包括朝野政黨的反對，當局唯有另外覓地興建，而有關的燃煤發電廠將肯定會在東海岸闢建。

自上述建燃煤發電廠計劃被宣佈後，根人民曾作出激烈反應，一個反燃煤發電廠行動委員會也應運而生，與其他環保份子共同向政府斡旋到底。

有政黨人士更把有關的燃煤廠演變為一項全州性課題，雖然如此，依上述可靠消息，當局迄未放棄燃煤發電廠的建設計劃，換言之，有關計劃將勢在必行，至於該廠將會花落誰家，大家且拭目以待。

一項由沙巴電力公司主辦的燃煤發電廠匯報會將在本週四（十九日）上午假十六里貢貢舉行並邀請當地煤體出席，以對燃煤發電電有深一層了解。
