Yong Teck Lee: "This is my promise to you, that our struggle continues and I will always be by your side"...."Trust and integrity of the leaders are fundamental to the future of a country or a government or, in our case, SAPP as a serious political party of the future"

--------------

This is the start, not the finish of our journey

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee accepts his first electoral defeat in 8 outings, and vows to continue his 'Sabah for Sabahan' struggle.

"Yes, this is my first defeat in Batu Sapi. But our party values number six as it means 'resilience'. You fall, and you get up again,"

"You will fight and fight until you win, until you achieve autonomy for Sabah and a better deal for Sabah."

SAPP Youth: Mositun's a man full of self contradictions

KOTA KINABALU, 6 Jan 2010: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) said Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Information Chief Datuk Johnny Mositun is a man full of self contradictions and is good at twisting facts and making up stories, in particular, over the Saham Amanah Sabah (SAS) debacle.

SAPP Youth Chief Edward Dagul said Mositun is a man of such after he had explained that he mentioned Datuk Yong Teck Lee's name on the SAS only in response to the police report lodged against him.

Dagul said that in fact his police report was lodged on 2 January after Mositun's statement, which appeared in local dailies on 1 January.

"So he started the whole thing by stating that the SAS investors 'had bought the shares when SAPP President Datuk Yong Teck Lee was the Chief Minister'," Dagul said in a statement, here, today.

He said the SAPP had on many occasions explained the SAS issue and even called on the government to produce White Paper on the matter but the government is reluctant to do so.

"Why does the government of the day refuse to produce the White Paper? What is stopping them from doing so?," he asked.

"Since Mositun keep harping on SAS issue and if he sincerely wants to get to the bottom of the matter so I challenge him to call on his party Ministers in the Cabinet to press the Government to publish a White Paper on SAS so that the whole truth will be known," he said.

He also said that PBS leaders must ask themselves why is that UMNO leaders, past and present, have maintained their steadfast silence over the "SAS fiasco".

Why is that only PBS leaders like Mositun, Vice President Datuk Herbert Timbun Lagadan, Deputy President Datuk Dr. Yee Moh Chai, and PBS Supreme Councillor Chin Tek Ming who continuously bring up the SAS issue? He asked.

Why is the current and past Chairmen of SAS keeping mum? What have the SAS Board, the Management and Investment advisers got to say? He further asked.

"Why is PBS interested only on the two years (1996-1998) when SAPP President was the Chief Minister and, which Mositun had correctly pointed out that due to the global stock market collapse the SAS shares tumble," he said.

Dagul said on issues of the "SAS fiasco", illegal immigrants, Sabah taking back SESB and rising costs of living, it is funny that Mositun and Herbert have out done even UMNO Youth in defending UMNO.
