Yong Teck Lee: "This is my promise to you, that our struggle continues and I will always be by your side"...."Trust and integrity of the leaders are fundamental to the future of a country or a government or, in our case, SAPP as a serious political party of the future"

--------------

This is the start, not the finish of our journey

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee accepts his first electoral defeat in 8 outings, and vows to continue his 'Sabah for Sabahan' struggle.

"Yes, this is my first defeat in Batu Sapi. But our party values number six as it means 'resilience'. You fall, and you get up again,"

"You will fight and fight until you win, until you achieve autonomy for Sabah and a better deal for Sabah."

SAPP Youth: Tan low, ungrateful, treacherous

Kota Kinabalu, Aug 7, 2010: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Youth Exco Member, Clement Lee, said the BN-PBS had intentionally and relentlessly launched attacks targeted solely at former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Yong Teck Lee on the SAS price slump in 1997 to 1998 but chose not to support a white paper on the issue merely showed that they do not want the truth to be known.

The party has maintained that Datuk Yong is not in a position to explain the SAS issue because he is not involved in the policies and investment decisions of SAS, documents pertaining to SAS, its board and investment committee minutes and other official records are government documents, due to the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

"Datuk Raymond Tan who was the former Deputy President of SAPP should know who were the culprits behind the SAS fiasco had not only not defended his former boss and mentor but instead make a mockery of him in the assembly.

Clement described Tan as ungrateful, cheap, treacherous and a man of low moral values.

"This issue should have been long forgotten similar to the Asian financial crisis but instead these BN kept bringing it up just by reminding and making the public to have a bad impression on Yong and SAPP...it is like a hit and run," said Clement.

"This matter should be closed because the SAS share prices were affected by the slump in the 1997-1998 Asian financial crisis.

"They (BN) should now be focussing on bringing up SAS instead of finger pointing to the past which will not solve anything except playing dirty politics.

"My advice to them is, please stop insulting the intelligence of the investors and rakyat again and again.
