SAPP Youth backs up Bersih Gathering

KOTA KINABALU, Apr 13, 2012: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Kota Kinabalu Youth has rescheduled its '1000 KK Youth Gathering' programme for May 6. It was earlier slated to be held on April 29.

The objective of the program is to prepare the election machinery of SAPP youths in Kota Kinabalu Zone for the coming 13th General Election which will be called soon, said organizing chairman John Stephen.

He said the program was rescheduled so that SAPP Youth can participate in full force in support for free and fair election declared by BERSIH 3.0 which will be held on April 28.

In supporting for clean, free and fair election, the Election Commission (EC) has detected the names of 13,000 people in Sabah whose status as voters is doubtful he said, adding "we feel the figure could be more than what has been reported."

"We believe the doubtful voters are due to the high population of immigrants living in Sabah and having access to genuine Malaysian MyKad from the back door.

"Many have been reported in the local daily with regard to foreigners having Malaysian MyKad but nothing has been done, including the failure of setting up the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) by the Federal Government," said Stephen, who is Kota Kinabalu Zone Youth chairman.
